All Star Smooth Jazz Cruise 2006
International live jazz

Smooth jazz stars Bob James, Kirk Whalum, Dave Koz, Patti Austin, Lee Ritenour and others are all heading for Jakarta, Indonesia next week to take part in the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival. The second annual event, featuring both international and native Indonesian musicians, will take place from March 2nd through 3rd and at various venues in the city.

Other confirmed performers for the event include Adani & Wolf featuring Neobe & Praful, Chiara Civello, Eric Benet, the Brand New Heavies, Carleen Anderson, Gerald Albright, Hiromi, Incognito, Jeff Lorber, Jonathan Butler, Kool & the Gang, Michael Lington, Michael Paulo, Peter White, Rick Braun, Take 6, Tower of Power, and Vikter Duplaix

1Veteran Chicago group Earth, Wind & Fire have announced dates for its 2006 national tour. The Grammy-winning ensemble, known for its fusion of jazz, funk, pop, and uplifting lyrics, will hit the road Saturday, February 25th, in Albuquerque, New Mexico

   The mission of the Berks Arts Council, formally organized in 1971, is to encourage and promote all of the arts, to develop an appreciation of the arts, and to enrich and enhance the quality of life in Berks County.

Connie Leinbach is the executive director, with Chuck Koch, serving as president of the board and chairperson of the event.
